Our Biographies

Joe and Jaclyn Sites are a husband and wife team of fiddlers from Idaho Falls. Jaclyn owns and operates Sites' Violin and Music Shop located at 1545 S. Boulevard in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

 

 

Joe is an 8 time

National Fiddle Champion

Jacie is the current:

Idaho State and Northwest Regional Champion and National Fanciest Fiddler and First Runner Up

 

 

Joe- is the current National adult fiddle champion, Idaho State and Idaho Open adult division champion. Joe has repaired and restored over 500 fine violins and has taught many students who have become national champions. Many of Joe's students have gone on to win such titles as Grand National, Grand Masters and World Series fiddling champion.

Jacie- is the current National certified fanciest fiddler, Idaho State Grand Champion and Northwest regional fiddle champion. Currently Jacie is the instrumental chairman for the Idaho Falls Music Festival and the artistic director for the Idaho Falls Junior fiddlers. Jacie was the first runner up in the National contest in the Young Adult division this year. Jacie was the concertmaster for her high school orchestra and a founding member of the Pick 'n' Bow company in Pendleton, Oregon.. Jacie studied fiddle and violin pedagogy at Eastern Oregon University for two years and also studied cello under the direction of Kenneth Woods. Jacie played with cello and violin with the Grande Ronde and Oregon East Symphonies. Jacie then continued on to study cello on scholarship at Boise State University where she was the assistant principal cellist in the Boise State Symphony. Jacie trained to teach Suzuki at the Pendleton Summer Suzuki Camp. Jacie has taught fiddling at many camps and workshops throughout the Northwest.

Recently - students of  Jacie Sites have won such titles as Montana state Junior champion, Wyoming State Grand Champion, Nevada State Junior Champion and National Small Fry 3rd place finish as well as First and second place at the National heritage fiddle contest in the Junior-junior and Open divisions. Many students of Joe Sites have gone on to be professional musicians, teachers and National fiddle contest winners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This year Jacie took 2nd in the National Heritage mandolin contest.

 

Joe and Jacie placed 1st and 2nd at the National Old-Time Fiddler's Contest 2005!


 

Joe and Jacie enjoy sharing their music with others whenever possible.  

 

Joe Wins the Best Accompanist and Most times on Stage award at the Idaho State Fiddle Contest 2006!!!
